Qualifications:

Pauline Tachon is an independent researcher based in London. She completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Local History and has many years experience searching the vast historical and genealogical holdings of the National Archives (TNA) and London repositories.

She operates UK Research to assist authors, lawyers, family or military historians to research historical or genealogical records, seek heirs or living relatives. All research is undertaken diligently with meticulous attention to detail. It is not possible to describe here the full extent of information that can be accessed just at the National Archives.

Records at The National Archives include:

• The vast collection of military, government or ‘public’ records of the United Kingdom, England and Wales
• Civil Registration: indexes of births, marriages and deaths from 1837; Adopted Children Register from 1927
• Census: 1841 - 1901
• Wills, Probate and Death Duties

Photocopies of original documents from TNA are obtained at cost. Most clients prefer to accept high quality colour digital image copies of original documents captured with a personal digital camera. The cost of all historic document copies, research fees and administration costs are payable in advance.

Flexible payment:

Fees are very reasonable, starting at £5. Estimates are quoted in Pounds Sterling. Personal cheques are accepted in the main foreign currencies with a surcharge to cover bank currency charges. The most economical, easiest and preferred method of payment for clients outside UK is by PayPal which enables online secure payment in most currencies using an International credit card or personal PayPal account.
