Qualifications
I am Welsh born and a fluent Welsh speaker. I have traced my own family back to the head of the 9th Noble Tribe of Gwynedd in the 12th Century. I have over 20 years experience of family history research which is now my profession, having previously been a hydro electric engineer. My trading name is CARW which stands for Consultant Ancestral Research Wales and is also a Welsh word for a stag which has appeared on the family crest for 8 Centuries.
Services
Welsh ancestry is my speciality but I also research widely in England. I regularly consult records held at the National Library of Wales; all the Welsh county record offices as well as the Family Record centre in London together with the Public Record Office in Kew which I visit regularly to trace mariners and railwaymen, especially those who were employed by the former Great Western Railway. Photographs of places of interest or memorial inscriptions are provided on request.
Fees
I do not require payment in advance and a financial limit can be agreed before research commences. Payments may be by personal cheque in your own currency or by International Money Order in Pounds Sterling or US Dollars. When payment is in a currency other than Pounds Sterling I do appreciate the addition of the equivalent of 5 Pounds Sterling to cover bank charges.
