Qualifications

I am a graduate of the National Institute for Genealogical Studies FIS University of Toronto in Canadian and American Genealogical Studies. I specialize in Ontario, Canada research. I have over thirteen years of genealogical research experience. I work in all of the major Ontario and Toronto repositories, including the Archives of Ontario and the church and municipal archives. I also conduct research in court and land record offices and public, and university libraries.

Background

I was born and raised in a multicultural area in the heart of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As a child I was intrigued by the customs of the English, French, Irish, Italian, Japanese Jewish, Polish, Scotch and Ukrainian families who made up this global neighborhood. As I look back now I can see that my interest in genealogy stems from this early opportunity to learn more about the heritage and customs of my own family and the families of my neighbours.

Today my passion for genealogy is reflected in my work as a professional genealogist. I pride myself in my proven ability to produce professional, confidential and cost effective service to suit my client's specific research needs. I have easy access to all the major archives and libraries in Toronto and the surrounding areas. I am familiar with the both the national and provincial genealogy collections. I use all of the Ontario and Canadian resources available (vital statistics, cemetery, census, estate, land records and city directories).

If you are interested in learning more about your family history in Ontario, and you don't know where to start or your genealogical research has come to an end because of missing records, I can help you. As an experienced researcher, I will use my extensive knowledge of Ontario and Canada to search record groups you may not be aware of, or that are difficult for you to access from a distance.

All projects are documented and fully explained in understandable terms.

There are no guarantees of locating every record due to the fact that some events were never recorded or records may have been destroyed.

I can guarantee you that I will undertake your
family research with the same enthusiasm and expertise
that I use when researching my own family lines.

Fees

Genealogical research is a time-consuming project that requires specific knowledge, skill and expertise. Therefore, fee estimates are dependent on what you are looking for, how common the surname is, the frequency of that surname as it appears in provincial or federal records. The research process takes four to six hours per generation. I have a five hour minimum plus an expense fee. The five hour minimum includes four hours of analysis and research time and one hour of report preparation time. The expense free covers commuter travel, copying, postage, etc.

Payment is to be received before full analysis and research begins. Personal cheques/checks only at this time.

Contact Method

You may contact me by email or postal mail. Please make sure you include your name, address, and telephone number along with a brief description of the nature of the research you are interested in having me conduct for you. Be as specific as possible with regard to names, dates, and places. Tell me how this person is related to you. Refer to them by name when discussing your research goals.

Please limit your request to one family line at a time, beginning with the family group that you know most about and work your way backwards to where you need my research help.

I will look over what you send me and I will get back to you as soon as possible with my preliminary evaluation. I will also suggest the most cost effective and productive way for you to proceed with your research.

Let me take the work and expense out of your long distance research!

Please email for additional information.
