Qualifications

I have had ten years experience in genealogy and family history research. My educational experience includes a B. A. in history from Williams College, and an M.A. from Colgate University as well as completing many National Genealogical Society courses. I have earned the designation of Certified Genealogical by the Board for the Certification of Genealogists. I am a member of the National Genealogical Society, The New England Historical Genealogical Society, The Association of Professional Genealogists, and local genealogical societies. I am also the volunteer genealogist for the Greece, New York, Historical Society.

Services

I am experienced in researching the collections in libraries, archives, and public offices in the counties of central western New York: Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, and Wayne. I have also conducted successful searches as far east as Syracuse and south to the Pennsylvania border. I can provide services ranging from locating and transcribing or copying documents through preparing complete reports on the ancestry of an individual or family.

Fees

There is no fee for the initial consultation undertaken before any research is begun. All documents and reports will include complete reference citations. My fees vary according to the research and writing required.

• The fee for searching for naturalization papers, deeds, vital records, and indexed newspaper articles is $15.
• Finding unindexed newspaper articles will cost $20/hour.
• The fee for probate papers is $20 per file.
• The fee for a full genealogical or family history report is $100 for the first four hours (minimum) and $30/hour for additional time. The report includes copies of all documents found with complete reference citations, a list of all sources searched with no result, analysis of the evidence, conclusions reached, and suggestions for further research. • Copying costs will be charged according to the schedule at each repository.
• There are no travel costs for searches in Monroe County. A one-time flat fee of $10 for research in Ontario, Genesee, Wayne, Livingston and Orleans counties. Searches in other upstate counties will involve travel costs (which will be shared with other clients requesting documents from the same area whenever possible.)
