I am an dedicated,knowledgeable researcher with several years practical experience researching New Zealand family, personal, and local histories. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Auckland, including courses in New Zealand social history and in social geography.

I pride myself on providing the client with a comprehensive research service drawing on my thorough knowledge and familiarity with the entire spectrum of research sources available for genealogical and microhistorical research in New Zealand.

I specialise in the tracing of families and individuals of New Zealand's past. A particular objective in my research is to tailor my methods according to the particular goals that the client wishes to attain through our working together. This might involve: tracing a missing relative in New Zealand, living or deceased, learning about the origins of a colonial family, biographical research, or solving unresolved mysteries surrounding an ancestor or other family member.

I am adept at utilising hospital, medical, military, government and church documents to shed light on an individuals past. This may involve, for instance, dedicated archival research sessions, or liasing with archivists and librarians from various organisations and agencies.

My knowledge of New Zealand social history also equips me with an understanding of the social and historical contexts of a person's life- occupational, socio-economic, and ethnic, for instance.

Fees:

Fees are negotiated on an individual basis, but are always set according to the time expected to be spent, and costs incurred, on behalf of the client. I will endeavour to keep costs to a minimum within an agreed range.
