Qualifications

I am a properly trained historian with a BA Honours from the University of Adelaide, and an MA and PhD from the University of London. Now working as an independent scholar and genealogist, I can offer over twenty years of experience in British and oversea archives, including the Mitchell Library in Sydney. In 1999, I was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Henry E. Huntington Library, Los Angeles. My publications include Peace and War on the Anglo-Cherokee Frontier 1756-63 (Palgrave, 2001), articles for the New Dictionary of National Biography, and contributions to the Journal of Imperial and Commonwealth History.

Fees

  • My standard fee is £20.00 per hour for work in London archives and for consultation and reporting.
  • Photocopying, postage and packing are AT COST. Basic items, such as posting a single certificate or copying one or two manuscript pages, are FREE.
  • Small assignments (e.g. obtaining copies from supplied references) are charged proportionately
  • There is NO charge for travel, travelling time or subsistence.
