OHIO FAMILY RESEARCH
|
QualificationsMy name is Yolanda Campbell Lifter and I thank you for your interest in my research services. As an Ohioan by birth, I enjoy helping others search for their Ohio roots. Although Ohio is my specialty, I also perform research throughout the United States. My personal research began a number of years ago with my paternal lines, many which have been in Ohio since the early 1800's. I started my genealogical research business in 2000 and enjoy doing client research. I attend as many national genealogical conferences as possible to further my genealogical education and I plan to begin the process to become certified within the next 18-24 months. I am a member of the following organizations:
Association of Professional Genealogists I am the Vice-President and member of the Board of my local society, the Genealogical Society of South Brevard. Services/FeesHourly Research $30 per hour of research with a ten-hour minimum plus expenses (copies, film developing, microfilm rental fees, mileage, postage, vital records, etc.). I do request prepayment of the first five hours of research before I begin my work ($150). For every two hours of research time, there is approximately one hour of analyzing and reporting the information that was obtained. Organizing Your Genealogy $30 per hour plus expenses. Do you need some assistance organizing and compiling the data you have collected over the years? I can help you sort your information and fill-in missing data. Would you like to have a family history book to preserve your research and share with other family members? I can help you by compiling your genealogy into a book. Tombstone Photography $2 per tombstone photograph in addition to $30 per hour research fee and expenses. My research time includes reviewing the information the client has provided, planning my course of action, collecting information, analyzing the information I have collected, and composing my final report. Additional research may be required to meet the needs of the client. I am able to research various types of records including birth, cemetery, census, death, marriage, military, obituary, and probate. I have a large personal library with many Ohio resources as well as information from other states. I have access to a number of libraries with very good genealogy departments-the Indian River County Library in Vero Beach (also a designated Family History Center), the Central Brevard Library and Reference Center in Cocoa, the Melbourne Public Library, and the Orlando Public Library. Please remember that genealogical research done correctly does take time and often involves collecting data from external sources (probate courts, NARA, health departments, etc.) and results may not be available immediately. I cannot guarantee I will be able to solve your genealogical problem(s) since the availability of information varies from county to county as well as from individual to individual. References are available upon request.
